Mansfield Castle is an imposing Victorian building set in 3.5 acres of picturesque countryside, with award winning cuisine and magnificent oak panelling throughout.

The Castle is located in the Royal Burgh of Tain, just one hour from Inverness airport and in the heart of the Highlands of Scotland.

Mansfield Castle is the perfect venue for a wedding, a short break or a complete get away to indulge in a few rounds of golf, sea and loch fishing, walking, stalking, dolphin and seal watching, whisky tasting, clan associations…

… Come and experience Mansfield Castle for yourself, your sanctuary in the Highlands of Scotland.

Weddings

In days of olde only the Laird or the Chief of the Clans could enjoy a wedding celebration in a Scottish Highland Castle.

Nowadays times have changed. At Mansfield Castle you will be made to feel as welcome as the Laird himself, to sample the splendid hospitality, comfortable surroundings and first rate food.

We at the Mansfield Castle very much appreciate that your wedding is one of the most important occasions in your life and believe it should be a unique and memorable experience. You should have peace of mind that every detail, no matter how small, should go as planned.

Management and staff have drawn from their considerable knowledge and experience to make Mansfield Castle the ideal venue for your special day. With a subtle blend of history and unique atmosphere, memories of which will stay with you both always.

We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you, under no obligation, so we may discuss your requirements and present our facilities before making your final decision.

The Ceremony

Mansfield Castle and grounds are an ideal setting for your marriage ceremony. The Castle built in the 1870’s, is classical in style, elegant in decor and comfortable in appointment. A Castle that remains true to the tradition of country house hospitality. Nestling in 3 acres of grounds which are ideal for those special wedding photographs the Mansfield has the intimacy and warmth that makes it the ideal place for your special day.

Your ceremony can take place inside the castle or if blessed with a glorious sunny day you can be married on the lawn. In Scotland, if you wish to hold the ceremony outwith a Registry Office or Church, you can have a Civil or Religious ceremony at Mansfield Castle. We would be happy to put you in touch with the Ministers of some local Churches or our local Registrar.

For your comfort we would advise that the maximum numbers that can be seated during the ceremony would be 50. The cost of staging a ceremony at Mansfield Castle is shown on the tariff sheet.

The Reception

Mansfield Castle has its very own piper who meets and greets guests on arrival at the Castle and pipes during the Marriage Ceremony if required. Once all the guests are seated, the main Bridal Party (with the exception of the Bride and Groom) with a piper escort will take their seats. At this stage, also escorted by a piper, the Bride and Groom will be announced and the guests will stand and welcome them.

The Management is prepared to perform the duties of the Master of Ceremonies. You may prefer a fully fledged Toastmaster in full regalia to attend to your needs, details can be obtained of this service on request.

Should you be planning a full day of events you may require music for dancing after the Wedding Breakfast. We have available a choice of Bands, Ceilidh Bands, Discos and Scottish Pipers to choose from.

Wedding Menus

Our highly experienced and professional Chef de Cuisine has prepared a selection of well balanced and mouth watering menus for your perusal and consideration.

All ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality, using the very best of local produce wherever possible so we may present only the very best to you and your guests.

Should you wish to plan you own menu we will be happy to assist you. Any special requirement such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten free diets etc can be catered for.

Your Stay

Most of the 19 sumptuous bedrooms have stunning views over the Castle grounds, the Moray Firth to the south east and the Dornoch Firth to the north east.

Each spacious room has its own distinctive character with a complimentary decanter of sherry and the famous Mansfield fluffy dog, which as well as providing a rather nice touch of humour also, when is placed outside your door, acts a Do Not Disturb signal for us.

All rooms are en suite, some with Jacuzzis and each room has tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers and television.
The Tower Suite is perfect for the family, with two bedrooms, a spacious bathroom and an extremely comfortable tower lounge with breathtaking views from every room. If you are feeling a little adventurous, follow the original spiral staircase to the very top of the tower where there is virtually a 360 degree view.
