Comlongon Castle, near Gretna in Scotland, is a restored 15th Century Medieval Scottish Castle Wedding Venue and luxurious Baronial Hotel with 14 individually themed luxury en-suite 4-poster bedrooms. The wedding castle hotel has two award winning oak panelled restaurants for receptions and a private resident’s bar. Our chefs specialise in local produce, changing their menus daily.

After successfully organising weddings for thousands of couples over the last 22 years, our team of staff have gained experience unmatched within the wedding industry. Our task is to make your wedding arrangements flow perfectly with minimal effort leaving you and your guests time to relax and enjoy the event safe in the knowledge everything is being handled by experts.

The services of a wedding co-ordinator are included in the cost of a wedding. WEDDING CEREMONY

Have your wedding ceremony at Comlongon Castle

This historic Scottish Castle venue is the perfect venue to celebrate your day
The Minister or Registrar will arrive at the Castle 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony to discuss the content with the Groom and Best Man. You will need the Schedule (previously obtained from our local registrars), and expenses. After this he will interview the Bride in her honeymoon suite.

The candlelit ceremony is usually conducted at 3 pm and lasts about 20-30 minutes, being informal in nature. The Groom, Best Man and guests are escorted to the Castle by the piper about 5 minutes before the service, to assemble in the Great Hall.

The Bride is then escorted into the Great Hall with her attendants.

We try and keep the whole day as relaxed and informal as possible so guests stand during the short service, although some seating is provided for those who may have difficulties standing for this period.

Vows are exchanged before the blazing log fire whilst family and friends gather in a circle to witness the union.

At the conclusion of the ceremony the Bride and Groom will sign the Schedule, before being escorted by the piper from the Castle to the private gardens where the photographers will be pleased to guide you through the numerous locations available.

The costs of hiring the castle includes  use of the castle for the ceremony and photographs, the services of a wedding coordinator, fire, candles, music and piper.  If you require Exclusive use of the Castle for your booking please contact one of our co-ordinators.

ACCOMMODATION

Luxurious 4-poster individually designed honeymoon suites offering a blend of history and style
COMLONGON CASTLE ROOMS

All rooms are individually themed and decorated with en-suite bathrooms, contain tea and coffee making facilities (although staff will deliver these 24 hours if requested), Digital free view flat screen TV, ironing facilities and direct line telephones.

We also offer free Wi-Fi services to guests.

ROOM 1; THE CARRUTHERS SUITE.
A large suite with original stone mullion leaded windows, views across the entrance to the hotel. Contains a Jacobean style king size four poster bed and large travertine tiled en-suite bathroom with roll top bath and double walk in shower. Breakfast served in the room, complimentary Champagne and local handmade chocolates.

ROOM 2; THE MAIDS CHAMBER.
Originally the maids room for the Countess of Mansfield, this is a double room with a king size brass bed and travertine tiled en-suite bathroom, with views across the entrance to the hotel.

ROOM 3; MANSFIELD SUITE.
Once Lady Mansfield’s bedroom. A large suite with original Edwardian fitted cupboards and wardrobes. Containing a huge, hand carved Jacobean style king size four poster bed, chaise lounge and en-suite Jacuzzi bathroom. Stunning views across the lawns and gardens through two window bays. Breakfast served in the room, complimentary Champagne and local handmade chocolates.

ROOM 4; STORMONT SUITE.
Named after the Earl of Mansfield’s eldest son, Lord Stormont. This room has uninterrupted views across the lawns and gardens, contains a king size four poster bed and has large travertine tiled en-suite bathroom facilities.

Each day our team of award winning chefs will create a new menu providing several choices for each course. Each dish is crafted from the best seasonal fresh produce the region can provide.

Individual wedding banquet menus created every day
We do not ask our guests to make their meal selections until their arrival at the castle on the day of the wedding or special event.
