Chateau du Creuset Outside

Le Château du Creuset is a castle, situated on a 90 hectare estate in the south of the Burgundy near the Loire.

We can offer you a pleasant stay in our chambre d’hôte (bed&breakfast), but you can also rent our castle with family or friends! You have 1000 m2 castle at your disposal and with maximum 15 persons you can enjoy the atmosphere of former days. Upon request, we will provide breakfast. lunch or dinner.

The castle has been recently renovated, with respect for original architecture, and with the stylish design it makes it a charming whole. Looking at the heigh ceilings, antique fireplace, parquet and authentic staircase you can image being in other era.

You can use the swimming pool, tenniscourt, petanque court, go for walks in our 6 hectare of woodlands or try your luck at the drivingrange. There are numerous of other (outdoor) activities that you can undertake at the castle, on request.

The property is not only situated within the triangle defined by the medieval cities of Nevers, Moulins and Decize but also on the edge of the Morvan (protected nature park) and only 15 km of the International Magny Cours Formula 1 track. Château Creuset is located at one day drive of Utrecht (750 km) but we can also be reached very well by train.

Le Château du Creuset is the ideal venue for family events of all types including birthday parties, wedding anniversaries, family reunions or private parties just for the fun of it. No need to worry about the small stuff as we can organise every aspect of your party, suggesting exciting and innovative touches that will enhance your event.

Suites and Rooms

There are 5 newly renovated, bedrooms and suites on the second floor of the château. A welcoming fireplace, antique furniture and ultra comfortable, 2.10 meter long, hotel quality beds give each bedroom and suite a feeling of luxury.

La Suite Sable (Nr 1)

For the ultimate in privacy, a spacious suite in the North tower(honeymoon suite) which includes a living room, bedroom, bathroom. The suite also has a private sun terrace.

La Suite Rose (Nr 2)

For the ultimate in privacy, a suite in the South tower which includes a living room, bedroom and bathroom.

La Chambre Grise (Nr 3)

Standard bedroom with own bathroom.

La Chambre Maron (Nr 4)

Standard bedroom with own bathroom.

La Chambre Bleue (Nr 5)

Standard room with own bathroom opposite the room.
Only available when renting the castle.

Food and Drinks

At the Château du Creuset, we can offer you the following services:

Breakfast

“French” breakfast € 12,50 per person. Consists of tea or coffee, baguette, croissants and/or pain au chocolat, home-made jams and fruit. English breakfast € 17,50 per person.

Breakfast is served in the “Salle à Manger”,
between 08.30 and 10.00 o’clock.
Breakfast in the room is available for a surcharge of € 15,-.
A Champagne breakfast can be served on the private terras of the honeymoon suite for a extra € 30

Table d’hôte

A five course dinner is available everyday.
Reservations are required one day in advance so that we may obtain the freshest ingredients from the local area.

Dinner will be at 20.30.

Price € 45,00 for the five course dinner.
A wine list is available!

After Dinner

Relax and enjoy a fine glass of cognac, a digestive or a good cigar in the billiard room.

Picnic basket

Going on a day trip or an afternoon outing –
try ordering a picnic basket full of paté, baguette, French cheese, fruit, smoked chicken as side dish, a choice of red, white or rose wine and a bottle of water.

A plaid blanket, china and all utensils are provided.

Activities

Offroad driving

For those of you who want to experience off road driving, check with the chatelaine to arrange for instruction.
The Château will have a simple track on 6 hectares of woodlands just right for the beginner ready by 2009.
As from summer 2008 the 4×4 quad will be present.

Experienced off road drivers can find a greater challenge at two near-by tracks at Magny-Cours. There is one offroad parcours at Magny-Cours but it’s temporary closed for renovations.
For cross country driving in the region, go to the Parc the Morvan.

4×4 Quad

Enjoy the feeling to drive 4×4 Quad in our own bunch.

Paintball

You can paintball on our 6 hectares of woodland. All material, masks, clothing etc is available.

Driving range

The château has a driving range with teeing ground.
Bring your own equipment.

Skeet shooting

Play as the aristocracy did and go skeet shooting.
Equipment and instruction are provided. Only possible under guidance of the chatelain.

Archery

Robin Hood and William Tell never got to visit the château but after a short instruction you can work on becoming an excellent bowman. Only possible under guidance of the chatelain.

Tennis

You have the arrangement concerning an own court.
There’s a basketball-bucket and a table-tennis table on the court as well.

Tenniscours is open from April till Oktober.
Please bring your own equipment.

Swimming pool

The swimming pool is open from mei till september.

As from summer 2008 the jacuzzi will be available and you can then use the jacuzzi, sauna and fitness space.
The sauna, fitness space and solarium are only open in the winter.
The jacuzzi can only been used in attendance of an adult and will only be turned on request.

Ballooning

Possible taking off from the garden of the castle.
